About Volusia Writers™

Volusia Writers is a community of writers inspired by the people, places, past, and possibility of Volusia County. We welcome all writers who feel a connection to Volusia County.

Founded in 2025 and registered as a DBA in June 2026, Volusia Writers brings writers together online and in person through classes, workshops, creative writing experiences, public readings, partnerships, member promotion, and literary events.

The organization serves novelists, poets, memoirists, essayists, historians, journalists, bloggers, playwrights, screenwriters, and writers at every stage of the creative process. Some members are published authors. Others are working on a first poem, first chapter, first article, or first book.

Volusia Writers was created to make local writers more visible, more connected, and better equipped to develop and share their work. Its programs help writers build skills, find community, meet readers, and take part in the cultural life of Volusia County.
